Unigraphics Mechanical Design Engineer:
Sherpa Design, Inc. is looking for a motivated and innovative mechanical design engineer to join our growing team. This position will involve working with a variety of different customers and industries, the common focus being the development of robust 3-D design tools using Unigraphics CAD to help our clients succeed. You will be working directly with our customers assisting them in a variety of different projects including:

Fixture and tooling design for the precision investment casting industry
Formed fiber packaging design and tooling design
Design for investment casting, and sand casting
Development of new processes to improve productivity and accelerate development
Consumer electronics, electronic test equipment, and precision gage design
Product design, manufacturing processes, tooling and inspection
Reverse engineering, CAD data translation and cleanup for prototyping
Plastics design, advanced design tools, (Surfacing, associative design tools, etc)
Rapid prototyping
The team member we are looking for is a degreed Mechanical Engineer and has experience with high-end solid modeling packages, preferably Unigraphics and/or Pro/Engineer. They are proficient with sketchers, assemblies, interpart relationships, and advanced "programming" of the software to create intelligent, flexible models. Proficient drafting experience is expected and basic GD&T ability a plus. They enjoy working on a variety of different design projects and can respond quickly to our customers’ needs, continually looking for new ways to add value. They can adapt to new processes quickly and deliver solutions that work. They possess excellent interpersonal and technical skills for working effectively with our customers. Hands on experience with rapid prototyping technologies is also desired.
Unigraphics experience (6000 + hours) must include proficient use of the Sketcher module and assemblies. We are willing to cross-train a Pro/E and/or Ideas user in Unigraphics if you possess the essential skills that would add to our team. You will have the opportunity to work in both Pro/E and Unigraphics, but your initial focus will be on the latter.
